Agencies within the Upstate region have the opportunity to become members of the Upstate AHEC Consortium. Those agencies that are not members of the consortium are able to attend all Continuing Education offerings for healthcare professionals but do not receive the benefits afforded to consortium members.
Benefits of Membership:
Consortium membership with Upstate AHEC is available to individuals, agencies, or divisions of organizations involved in health care and interested in enhancing professional competencies and maintaining licensure. For one low annual fee, consortium members register for all of the educational programs sponsored by Upstate AHEC tuition free and the number of attendees per group is not limited.
All Continuing Education programs offered by Upstate AHEC are open to both consortium and non-consortium attendees. Membership in the Upstate AHEC Consortium allows all employees of the agency to attend Continuing Education programs free of charge. Continuing Education programs are open to all participants, but consortium members get the experience for less. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Due to the cost of certain courses, i.e. those where the speaker fee exceeds $1000/day, a reduced fee may be required of consortium attendees.
Last year, consortium members had access to the following:
- More than 87 continuing education programs, many developed based upon the needs identified by your organization
- More than 682 teaching hours delivered by a cadre of the most competent clinicians and educators
Membership options for those not associated with a consortium member organization:
Individual Consortium Membership entitles the member to attend all Upstate AHEC programs at no charge for registration. This includes all live programs as well as online courses on AHEC U and SCHOOLS courses. Meals, roster fees and books, if required for a specific program are not included in consortium membership. Membership fee is $200.00. AHEC U Membership entitles the member access to all on-line AHEC U Classes free for one year from date of membership (exception Anatomy and Physiology and Pharmacology for NP). AHEC U Membership does not provide access to live programs or SCHOOLS programs, but does provide access to over 140 online courses. AHEC U does not include live classes or SCHOOLS.
